We’re going downtown baby!

If you haven’t heard, The District American Kitchen at the Sheraton in downtown Phoenix, is where it’s at! 

We spoke with the friendly folks in suits at The District--surrounded by sloppy Joe sliders, calamari & chimichurri, chips & dips, buffalo nuggets (hungry yet?)—and they are excited to host this month’s shindig. We -- @Buzzcation @lafinguy and I -- asked,”Yo, can you hook us up?” And they did!

• For the evening, buzzcation guests will enjoy The District’s happy hour drinks and appetizers prices, not just ‘til 7p.m., but ALL NIGHT LONG. http://districtrestaurant.com/#food/happy_hour . They have reserved the Wine Lounge, that circular-thingy room in the middle just for us—private party, hello!
• Got a #buzzcation shirt? Wear it, and you’ll get goodies from The District/Sheraton, like the little bottles of shampoo, soap, lotions…you know, stuff that you normally steal from hotels, but now you don’t have to! (Kidding. You’ll get something good.) Need one? DM @vettieroe, I can personalize it for you.
• Their house DJ will be cranking some tunes starting at 7p.m. Sadly, no karaoke tunes for me, but I do hope he mixes in some 80s beats.
• Photo with Chef Jay, who said he’ll be wearing an apron…And. Just. An. Apron. LOL!
• And Chef Jay was also thinking something crazy but simple to give to all the guests. Last I heard him say was, “I’ll make sure you’re all sticky before you leave.” What? 

As you know, we try to put our love of alcohol to good use by helping out a local charity (and believe me, the beer taste better knowing you’ve helped someone). So we’re making this whole shindig even sweeter by partnering up with Fairytale Brownies (@ftbrownies) to build an amazing playground for kids in a disadvantaged community in the metro Phoenix area through the non-profit, Kaboom (http://kaboom.org/about_kaboom). Fairytale Brownies is hoping to collect about $75K to build this awesomeness. Not that we’re expected to collect $75K that evening, but our group can certainly contribute to this heart-warming cause for neighborhood kids.

Oh, and as a “thank you,” those foxy ladies @ftbrownies will hook us up as well. As party favors, they are giving away cookies to every guest, provided you tweet about their new cookie recipe. They are also donating a couple of brownie TOWERS for the raffle drawing! Suh-weet!
